AN UPDATE RECEIVED FROM THE FIJI ROADS AUTHORITY ON THE NEW DENARAU ISLAND BRIDGE IS AS FOLLOWS:

Demolition of existing (old) bridge – completed All the bridge piling work - completed Construction of bridge headstocks - completed Bridge concrete abutment works - completed Installation of bridge main supporting steel beams - completed Construction of bridge concrete decking slab – 90 per cent complete Installation of water and sewer main – 80 per cent complete nstallation of electricity mains – 80 per cent complete Installation of telecommunication cabling - about 80 per cent complete.
