Aman, who allegedly posed as a doctor and took money from people, appeared at the Nasinu Magistrates Court yesterday. Magistrate Sufia Humza has further remanded Seba Sitiano Bukanikoro, 52 . Bukanikoro is charged with four counts each of obtaining property by deception and one count of use of certain titles or descriptions prohibited.

It is alleged that Bukanikoro between September 3 and September 7, at Nasinu being a person not registered on the appropriate register, used the relevant term doctor and surgeon to describe himself for a service that he provided.

It is also alleged that he dishonestly obtained $150, $75, $150 and $75 from four different people with intention to permanently deprive them of their property.

Police Prosecutor Inspector Jiten Singh objected to bail on the grounds that it was a matter of public interest and was likely to attract more victims to lodge further complaints.

Mr Singh served full phase disclosures. Bukanikoro has sought Legal Aid assistance. Mrs Humza has told Bukanikoro to file a formal bail application. The court has been adjourned to September 23 for mention. Edited by Nemani Delaibatiki
