$12,000 Boost For Marist Hockey

Geotech Drilling has increased their sponsorship of this year’s Eastgate Memorial Hockey tournament to $12,000. The company’s managing director Gary Barnett said they have decided to increase the prize money to cater for teams that are coming in to play.

“This is the third year of a three year deal we are doing with Marist Hockey so we decided to give them $12, 000,” Barnett said. “Geotech has sponsored lawn bowels and hockey as everyone else in the major sports seemed to get a lot of promotion. So we just help out as our corporate responsibility. We are looking forward to the competition next weekend and hope the teams enjoy themselves.”

Marist Hockey president Peni Sigabalavu said they are hoping to make it a fun-filled event. “At the moment we still have a number of teams expressing their interest to come so we do not have a confirmed number as yet.” Sigabalavu thanked Geotech Drilling for their continuous support which has allowed them to assist the teams taking part in the tournament.
