Suva players rewarded for big effort
The Suva Rugby Union players and officials were acknowledged during a function at the FMF Gymnasium last night. SRU acting chairman Timoci Nakaruru applauded the hard work of the players and officials for contributing to a successful year. “We are proud of our achievements in the Skipper Cup competition as it was a tough season,”he said.
“This is just a function to thank our players and their families. Nakaruru also acknowledged chief guest Rajendra Swamy, the owner of Priya Flagstaff Laundry who has been sponsoring the SRU throughout the season. Nakaruru said Suva continues to build its support base and looking forward to the next season. “From us it was more than just rugby,” he said. “We will have a short break before we resume preparation kicking off with the annual general meeting.
