Henry Smith took out the Most Improved Player prize during the Tacirua Rugby awards night. The 24-year-old from Lomai, Waimaro, Naitasiri expressed his gratitude to the management and players for their continued support throughout the year.

“First of all I would like to thank the Lord for this opportunity for me to play in this Tacirua team this year,” Smith said. “And also the management, coach for their guidance and the boys for their support, without them I could not have received this award.

“It is one thing to play for a team but to get continuous support all around is something I’m really grateful for.

“I’ve changed as a player since joining the team and I really want to keep improving next year.”
