‘Heal­ing wa­ter’ vis­i­tors ad­vised to re­con­sider travel

Fiji Roads Au­thor­ity (FRA) is ad­vis­ing mo­torists in­tend­ing to travel to Natadra­dave in Dawasamu to re­con­sider travel plans be­cause of the high pos­siELOLW\ RI aeRRGLQJ UHVXOWLQJ IURP the con­tin­u­ous rain.

Natadra­dave is the site of the so­called “heal­ing wa­ter” which have at­tracted crowds of peo­ple.

In a state­ment, the Fiji Roads Au­thor­ity says: “ris­ing wa­ter lev­els from nearby streams and creeks FRXOG aeRRG WZR ,ULVK FURVVLQJV lo­cated en­route to Natadra­dave Vil­lage. “The two cross­ings in­clud­ing Nab­u­lau Cross­ing lo­cated 8.8 kilo­me­tres on the Dawasamu Road and De­lakado Cross­ing lo­cated 0.48 kilo­me­tre on the Naboro Co­coa Road may soon come un­der wa­ter,” it said. Fiji Roads Au­thor­ity’s main­te­nance con­trac­tor in the area will con­tinue to mon­i­tor the wa­ter level at these two cross­ings and strongly ad­vise that travellers to resched­ule their trip as they may åQG WKHPVHOYHV VWUDQGHG DV D UH­sult. As a pre­cau­tion­ary mea­sure, mo­torists and mem­bers of the pub­lic are ad­vised not to cross aeRRGHG RU VZROOHQ VWUHDPV

Other pre­vail­ing con­di­tions in­clude slip­pery road sur­faces es­pe­cially on the un­sealed road net­work and pot­holes on sealed road sur­faces. FRA wishes to ad­vise that the Korovou road crews are also in­spect­ing other roads in the area that may also come un­der wa­ter as a re­sult of the heavy rain. Source: Fiji Roads Au­thor­ity
