‘Healing water’ visitors advised to reconsider travel

Fiji Roads Authority (FRA) is advising motorists intending to travel to Natadradav­e in Dawasamu to reconsider travel plans because of the high possiELOLW\ RI aeRRGLQJ UHVXOWLQJ IURP the continuous rain.

Natadradav­e is the site of the socalled “healing water” which have attracted crowds of people.

In a statement, the Fiji Roads Authority says: “rising water levels from nearby streams and creeks FRXOG aeRRG WZR ,ULVK FURVVLQJV located enroute to Natadradav­e Village. “The two crossings including Nabulau Crossing located 8.8 kilometres on the Dawasamu Road and Delakado Crossing located 0.48 kilometre on the Naboro Cocoa Road may soon come under water,” it said. Fiji Roads Authority’s maintenanc­e contractor in the area will continue to monitor the water level at these two crossings and strongly advise that travellers to reschedule their trip as they may åQG WKHPVHOYHV VWUDQGHG DV D UHsult. Other prevailing conditions include slippery road surfaces especially on the unsealed road network and potholes on sealed road surfaces.
