In the Vodafone Flying Fijians category Leone ‘Offloader King’ Nakarawa is most likely to win the people’s vote after an impressive performanc­e at the 2016 Olympics in Rio and his commitment with the Vodafone Flying Fijians.

Vodafone Fijian 7s captain Osea Kolinisau is most likely to receive the highest vote in the Vodafone People’s Choice best 7s player category during the Fiji Rugby Union awards night at Novotel Suva Lami Bay on January 14. It will not be an easy battle for Kolinisau as he will battle against Semi ‘Beast’ Kunatani, Seremaia Tuwai and elusive Kitione Taliga. In the Vodafone Flying Fijians category Leone ‘Offloader King’ Nakarawa is most likely to win the people’s vote after an impressive performanc­e at the 2016 Olympics in Rio and his commitment with the Vodafone Flying Fijians. The Kadavu man will have a close battle with bulky winger Nemani Gadolo. Rebecca Tavo, Rusila Nagasau, skipper Ana Maria Roqica and Litia Naiqato will have a close battle in the Fijiana 7s category while 7s rep Alifereti Veitokani, Northland hooker Sireli Ledua and Nadroga player of 2016 Eremasi Radrodro will also have tight tussle for the 2016 player for domestic competitio­n. Winning Nadroga coach Esala Nauga is the favourite for the best coach category following his successful achievemen­t this season. Nauga will compete against Reverend Joji Rinakama (Naitasiri), Max Hughes (Namosi) and Akuila Nasi(Suva). Meanwhile, in the main awards, players, coaches and officials will be recognised by FRU in the best 7s and 15s men/women category, secondary/ primary school player of the year, team of the year, coach of the year, rugby administra­tor of the year and lifetime achievemen­t award.
