2016 has been a difficult year for Fiji with the damage wrought by Cyclone Winston, but our students have provided us hope for the future. This was the statement made by FNU Vice Chancellor Professor Nigel Healey at their graduation ceremony yesterday. Professor Healey apologised to students for the postponement of the ceremony last Thursday because of the adverse weather forecast. “The damage caused by Cyclone Winston is a stark reminder of the power of nature, hence the university took this step in the interest of the safety of our students, families, and staff,” said Professor Healey. He also thanked the support of parents, family and friends who have helped them along the way.
Graduates will join a family of tens of thousands of alumni who have graduated from FNU and its constituent colleges over the last 130 years. Edited by Rusiate Mataika
