Prime Minister Bainimarama Receives Belgium’s Deputy PM
Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama yesterday received the deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Belgium, Didier Reynders. Mr Reynders paid a courtesy visit to Mr Bainimarama in his office. PM Bainimarama while welcoming Mr Reynders to the country said that Fiji values highly the longstanding friendship and co-operation it shares with the government and people of the Kingdom of Belgium. Mr Reynders also met with the Assistant Minister for Health Alex O’Connor and the Minister for Industry and Trade, Faiyaz Koya.
Belgian DPM meets Ministry of Health senior officials Mr Reynders met with the Ministry of Health and Medical Services senior officials at the Ministry’s headquarters in Suva, yesterday. The Assistant Minister for Health and Medical Services, Alex O’Connor and the Permanent Secretary for Health and Medical Services, Philip Davis received the delegation and held discussions on Fiji’s health programmes and services that are provided through a partnership with the World Health Organisation (WHO) and relevant stakeholders. Discussions also centred on the Ministry’s programmes in rural and maritime communities, developments to enhance health infrastructure, training and capacity building of health professionals including doctors and nurses, pharmaceutical services and public health services. The meet also provided an opportunity for Mr Reynders and assistant minister O’Connor to discuss opportunities of mutual co-operation between Fiji and Belgium’s health sector. Source: DEPTFO News
