NCCI anticipates good 2017: Dr Raju
The Nadi Chamber of Commerce and Industry is looking forward to greater heights this year. President Dr Ram Raju praised the Government on the sound economic policies that had transpired over the years. He said development had been flourishing in the Nadi town area as far as infrastructures and connectivity was concerned. Dr Raju added that it had been a very special time for the various businesses to reflect on the past, considering their excellent recovery from the 2012 flood. “Nadi’s growth has been phenomenal thanks largely to the sound economic policies of the Government,” Dr Raju said. “The resilience and hard work of everyone led to sustained business and economic activities.” He said the new infrastructural developments and investments continued in this area and many new projects were taking shape. Other developments, he said, were the housing and other infrastructure developments in Votualevu and Legalega and the industrial park near the Nadi International Airport. “Another major development that is opening up more opportunities for growth and investments; Pullman Hotel project of Gokal’s in Wailoaloa,” Dr Raju said. “Other developments include Ramada Resort and Mark Hinton’s Smuggler’s Cove and Hari Punja’s massive Palm Beach Waterfront development.” “Also the re-opening of Double Tree Sonaisali Resort, Bobby Khan’s Relax Fiji Resort, Danny’s Supermarket and additional industrial development with Modern Glass and Mirror in Korovuto; GDR Shopping complex in Malolo; shopping and other developments along Nadi Back Road. “The four-way lane from the airport to Martintar is progressing well and that looks impressive; the by-pass stretch of road from Narewa Village through Nakavu to Martintar. “This area has become a major tourist attraction; including the Nadi airport reconstruction and upgrade is nearing completion,” Dr Raju said.
