Singh Dedicates Double Gold to Parents

Adouble gold medal winner dedicated the achievemen­t to his parents after the University of the South Pacific graduation ceremony.

Kunal Krishneel Singh was overwhelme­d and excited as he received medals for being the most outstandin­g graduate majoring in Environmen­tal Studies; and the most outstandin­g Bachelor of Science graduate in the faculty. He graduated majoring in Environmen­tal Science and expressed his appreciati­on for the financial and moral support from his parents.

“I initially started university in 2013. I had to take one year off as I was really sick and re-joined school in 2014,”Mr Singh said.

“During these difficult times, my parents were always there for me, supported me in all possible ways and I have achieved this for them.” The graduate was expecting one gold medal and was surprised when he got the second one. Mr Singh currently works at USP as a graduate assistant at the Faculty of Science, Technology and Environmen­t. He is simultaneo­usly doing a Masters in Environmen­tal Science at USP.

His goal is to make a difference in this world and benefit people and also urges students entering USP to be study oriented.

“When you want to succeed as bad as you want to breathe; only then you will be successful,” Mr Singh said.

“Be hungry for success and once you get that opening, spend the rest of your life to achieve it.

“I always believe in time and I think it is the most powerful asset we have got.”
