Former Vodafone Fijian 7s head coach Ben Ryan arrived in the country yesterday on a business trip.

Speaking to SUNsports, Ryan said he is here for a few days but would return in June to attend national sevens captain, Osea Kolinisau’s wedding.

“I’m looking forward to that book that I had written and it’s going to come out this Christmas,” he said before making his way to the Uprising Beach Resort in Pacific Harbour.

Vodafone Fijian 7s captain Osea Kolinisau is going to get married in June. This was revealed by former Fijian 7s head coach Ben Ryan when he arrived at Nadi International Airport yesterday.

“I love coming back and I will be back at the end of June for Osea’s (Kolinisau) wedding, so I am just staying over for a few days,” Ryan said.

The HSBC ambassador is here on a business trip. Ryan said he was happy to see the Fijians pull off their first win in the 2016/17 Series in Hong Kong.

“I was in Hong Kong and Singapore and I thought the players were brilliant. They were good in Hong Kong on day three after having a very sketchy day one and two, which is typical Fiji. “Suddenly when the pressure comes on day three they were brilliant so it’s just great that we won three in a row now.

“In Singapore, USA played really well, those four quarterfinals were all really good games and I really enjoyed them. Canada was great and I was really pleased with them and an excellent work done by their coach.”

Ryan said it was a beautiful day arriving into the country as he was able to see the islands clearly. “I’m looking forward to that book that I had written and it’s going to come out this Christmas. It’s good with so many different things like basketball, football and I’m enjoying just not having too much responsibility at the moment. It’s good to have a break and will get a proper job next year.” Ryan is staying at the Uprising Beach Resort in Pacific Harbour. “I will catch up with some friends and chill out. I will have a Fiji Gold tonight, the Fijian lamb curry and looking forward to it.”
