Minister Reddy thanks school managers, launches School Management handbook
Launches the School Managers Handbook
The Minister for Education, Heritage and Arts Mahendra Reddy commended the efforts of school managers in ensuring the way forward for our education system.
“It is an incredibly prestigious and well respected position. You are a privileged person, special person among your community because you have been chosen to lead,” Mr Reddy said during the launch of the School Managers Handbook at the Xavier College in Ba yesterday.
“You are a leader in your own right and therefore, there are certain expectations and responsibilities that come with that leadership that has been badged on upon you.”
“I must say looking at the education system today, you have done extremely well,” he said. School managers from Ba and Tavua were part of this launch.
“I want to thank all of you for taking time out today again.
“You have always sacrificed your personal time, family time and personal resources to attend school meetings and forums organised by the Ministry of Education not for yourself, but for our children.
“You are here to demonstrate that you are equal partner in terms of supporting us, our Government, deliver our vision of contributing building a knowledge based society. “You, by coming, by taking the leadership roles have assured us that you too believe that Fiji can be prosperous and have a stable society if we have everyone educated. You too believe that everyone should be given chance to access education,” he said.
The handbook entailed the roles and responsibilities of school managers.
The School Management Handbook has been funded by the Access to Quality Education Programme (AQEP).
A similar launch was done at Natabua High School in Lautoka where school managers included those from the Yasawas.
