The Saint Mina Children’s Home in Martintar in Nadi acknowledged a cash donation to help with looking after the 18 children at the orphanage.

Car enthusiasts Street Demons Fiji yesterday donated a cheque of $2000 to the home at Namaka in Nadi. The group last Saturday organised a Car Show which attracted car enthusiasts from as far as Suva, Ba, Sigatoka and Rakiraki where the group was able to raise funds.

“This is always a happy moment for us, especially knowing that we are contributing to the well being of the children here and this brings joy,” said the group’s president, Sharoof Shah .

“We come once every month to visit the children, where we bring foods, clothes and whatever we can contribute on last year Christmas Easter, Valentine’s Day and it is so much more rewarding.

“This is the second time we are doing this, the last time we also held a Car show in 2015 and raised about $1000 which was also donated to them as well.”

Saint Mina Home Trustee George Saub acknowledged the kind gesture by the group.

“I can’t thank the local community, Homes and those who just drop by to say hello to us,” Mr Saub said. “We are very grateful and much appreciating what the people, not only today but the last two years and a half they have been supporting us.”

Mr Saub said the funds were used for the daily running and commitment of the home.
