POSITIVE START FOR POLICE BLUE

Police Blue started their Suva Rugby Union’s Escott Shield campaign on a high note after they thrashed Nasinu 31 – 5 in the opening round of competitio­n at the Suva Grammar School grounds last Saturday.

Speaking to Blue coach Solomone Lute said implementi­ng new strategies contribute­d to the win. “This was our first game as we have been preparing for the past three weeks,” he said.

“Also, this year we are not only focusing on winning the Escott Shield but our vision is to retain the Ratu Sukuna Bowl as well.

“We were fortunate to have some experience­d players like Samu Bola, Luke Navela and Isireli Rarawa in our side. “They helped our new players to adapt to our structure.”

Police tries were scored by Ilaitia Koroi, Navela, Mosese Naiova, Saula Naivakadra­nu and Inoke Ravuiwasa.
