Four Miss World Fiji Contestants Feature in Fiji Fashion Week
Four contestants from the 2017 Miss World Fiji (MWF) pageant will be part of the Fiji Fashion Week.
And MWF director Andy Blake said this was exciting news since one of the awards at the Miss World Fiji pageant is for top model.
“It is great exposure for the girls because it not only builds that confidence, but also gives them a comfortable feel to walk in front of thousands of people. This is a good practise round for them,” he said. Ms Rainima will be working with the Epeli Tuibeqa and Robert Kennedy collection while the other trio will be part of the swimsuit show on Thursday evening.
This is a great relationship because Fiji Fashion Week and Miss World Fiji work hand in hand in the sense of promoting fashion, added Mr Blake.
“This year is exciting because four of the finalists have been asked to model at Fiji Fashion Week. “We have never had this relationship with Fiji Fashion Week before,” he said. Meanwhile, the judges at the 2017 Miss World Fiji finals will follow on from previous years’ tradition of having the former winners decide who will be crowned.
They are: Miss World Fiji Caireen Erbsleben (2013), Charlene Tafuna’i 2014, and reigning Miss World Fiji Pooja Priyanka (2016). Brittany Hazelman, winner of the 2015 event is based in Sydney. Her availability is yet to be confirmed. Yesterday, the team was hosted by the Sigatoka River Safari as part of their tourism excursion.
Sigatoka River Safari sales and marketing manager, Claire Ann Steele, said they were proud of renewing their partnership with Miss World Fiji pageant since after they hosted the team in 2015.
