Need for boxing officials, judges

- Boxing Commission Fiji Feedback: oseab@fijisun.com.fj

The Boxing Commission of Fiji is inviting interested individuals, former boxers, and sports lovers to be part of the revival of professional boxing as officials and judges.

“We lack the number of qualified officials and judges for professional boxing in Fiji,”BCF chairman Bulutani Mataitawakilai

BCF is organizing a two days training for officials and judges on June 28-29 in the lead up to the Canada Fiji Southern Boxing Promotion programme at Prince Charles Park in Nadi on June 30. The venue will be confirmed next week.

“We want to conduct training in three major centres- Nadi, Suva, and Labasa this year,”he said.

“Qualified officials and judges and high standard officiating will contribute to the growth of professional boxing in Fiji.

BCF is gender inclusive therefore, we welcome women as well to be either officials, judges, and importantly to appear in sanction programmes as boxers.”

Meanwhile, all boxers are to contact the nearest Provincial Youth Administrators Office or the Boxing Commission of Fiji to collect and submit their registration form. The revised form is asking for some detailed information of all boxers for administration purposes.

Registration Fees for professional boxing in Fiji will be levied from 2018 onward. At the moment, we want to have them registered before they appear in any upcoming programme and to have their name appear in our database. Contact Bulutani on 8785589, Usman on 707 1380 or 9973229 to register your interest to be officials and judges.
