The Boxing Commission of Fiji (BCF) unveiled a new logo yesterday.

BCF chairman Bulutani Mataitawakilai said the new logo was part of its new set up.

“The new logo created three days ago depicts the traditional iTaukei culture and traditions in tapa design,”Mataitawakilai said.

“The circle depicts the unity that boxing has brought all ethnic group together, the gloves symbolizes the sport, the Fiji flag is represent our country and all Fijians regardless of ethnicity, colour, status, etc.” Mataitawakilai said boxing promoters who put up flyers and promotion materials in all BCF-sanctioned programmes, they should ensure the BCF Logo is visible.

“I am trying my best to contact local businesses to sponsor the printing of one or two canvas banner of the logo that will be displayed in all programmes,” he added.

“Let us continue to work hand in hand to ensure professional boxing in Fiji gets back to its former glory and lift it to the way the public are worshiping 7s rugby today.” He added the new email address for the BCF (boxingcommissionfiji@gmail.com) and is developed to ensure information remains with BCF regardless of termination of appointment, resignation or natural death of BCF chairman, board members, secretary/office clerk. “As in the past, former chairmen used their personal email address and we the new board really find it hard to update ourselves with correspondences etc.”
