The Boxing Commission of Fiji has announced that Kiran Boxing Promotion will stage three promotions this year.

BCF chairman Bulutani Mataitawakilai confirmed on Monday that they have received their applications to stage the promotions between August to December, this year.

Bulutani said that their first promotion under the new board is scheduled for August but the exact date should be finalised by early July.

“They have booked the Tilak High School hall in Lautoka. Their second programme will be on October 2 and the third on December 7,” he said.

“The BCF understands that Kiran Boxing had promoted several fights before and we will work closely with them to ensure that the next sanctioned programme will be improved.

“The details of boxers that will appear in their programme in August should be made known to the Commission by the end of June or latest early July.

“By then we will also expect Kiran and other promoters to inform us of their exact dates, venue and who they will line- up in their next two programmes.” Bulutani added that this is done to help clubs prepare boxers for the promotion and for fans to mark their calendar and plan accordingly. “With the dates known now, fans and the public will look forward to well-prepared boxers appearing in all upcoming sanctioned programmes.”

Promoter Ben Krishna said he is happy to work with the sanctioning of the promotions.

“I thank the new board for sanctioning my programmes and I’m looking forward to making it happen.”
