The Police Blue rugby team will change their game plan and improve their players’ fitness level if they are to stand a chance in the Suva Rugby Union’s Escott Shield competition.

Last Saturday they edged out Lomaiviti Green 19-7.

Police Blue coach Solomone Lute said yesterday that despite the win their fitness was poor and their style of play has become predictable.

“I think we’ve seven more rounds before the quarterfinals and we’ve got to start working now,” the former Suva prop said.

“We’ll need to rearrange the structure of our game.

“We’re looking forward to play against the Nabua Maroons next.” Lomaiviti Green coach Samuela Saumaisue said poor defence resulted in their loss.

“I feel the boys did really well despite the outcome but we still need to work on our defence,” the former national rugby sevens robust forward said.

“We’ll now look forward to our next game against Raiwaqa White and hopefully try to gain points to at least make it to the top eight position.”
