Stage set for Top Executives meeting
BIG TWO-DAY TOPEX CONFERENCE STARTS TOMORROW
Digital transmission is not always about its quality. In today’s global digital environment.
It’s important to understand the way listeners receive the message as well.
This is the gist of Nouzab Fareed’s presentation tomorrow. Mr Fareed is Executive Chair of Fiji Television Limited, a subsidiary of Fijian Holdings Ltd Group.
He is one of three speakers at the big TOPEX (Top Executives) Conference of the Fiji Commerce and Employers Federation.
He will elaborate on ‘The Digital Media Revolution.’ TOPEX is at Shangri-La’s Fijian Resort.
Mr Fareed said the media has been totally transformed with the onslaught of digital.
“Now anyone can listen and watch the news wherever they are, let it be at home or while driving, it’s been totally explosive.
He said what’s important is how we broadcast the news to make the listeners understand and also to cover a wide range of areas in terms of accessibility.
“The revolution has taken us to another level, I can’t imagine what will happen in the next generation when my children get old.
“Media revolution also has its negativity especially when you have unwanted comments.
“People sometimes take ethics for granted.”
From his observation, Mr Fareed said overall Fiji is getting better and there is still room for improvement.
“Fiji is not far away, the quality and digital transition is like what is available anywhere else in the world. “We need to improve on our online services as we do not have an independent dedicated online service right now.”
He said there are a lot of changes which are bound to happen.
Also speaking of the Digital Media Revolution are:
Hank Arts, Publisher/ GM Fiji Times Ltd.
William Parkinson, Executive director Communications Fiji Ltd.
The theme of the conference is Responsible Business in a Green Economy.
