FIJI POLICE FORCE PASSING-OUT
It was an emotional moment for mum, Makirina Taga as her son received the Most Improved Award during the Fiji Police Force passing-out parade at Nasova, Suva, yesterday.
Mrs Taga and her husband travelled from Nadi to be part of their son’s special occasion.
“I was just so happy that’s why I was crying when he went to receive his award, I was lost for words,” said Mrs Taga.
Their son, Mosese Taga, 21, said winning the award came as a surprise and he wasn’t expecting to win any award.
“I never really wanted to be a Police officer, it was actually my friends who told me to apply during the recruitment drive last year in November.”
Mr Taga was a second year student at the Lautoka Teachers College when he was listed in January to undergo training.
“My parents were very disappointed when I told them I was in training to become a Police officer so I think it has finally paid off today,” said the Vanua Levu native.
His advice to others wishing to join the Force: “Never give up, do your best and leave the rest to God.” He thanked God and his parents for his achievement.
“His always been a disciplined child growing up and it was not a surprise that he won the award,” proud dad, Watekini Taga said.
