Jonny ‘Machine Gun’ Singh has challenged Sebastian ‘Sniper’ Singh to take him on in the next fight.

This was after both boxers won their fights convincingly at the Canada Fiji Southern Boxing Promotions at the Prince Charles Park, Nadi on Friday night.

“I want to challenge Sebastian next as he has proved himself against Farzan,” he said after he beat Saimoni Ratu.

“I want to prove myself and I know I can do it.” In the main event (10 x 3min) Junior ‘Razor’ Farzan Ali hit the canvas in the first round to the disappointment of the 6000 fans that braved the chilly condition. Referee Faiyaz Khan stopped the fight two minutes and four seconds in round one.

Singh was overwhelmed with the outcome.

“There has been a lot of talk and I’m happy with the result,” he said. In the main supporting bout Abhay Chand beat Opeti Tagi on split points decision.

In the extra supporting bout (8 X 3min) Savenaca Naliva won by points over Tomu Gaunavou. Gaunavou replaced Joseph Kwadjo and he did not disappoint. But the three judges scored in favour of the Ba slugger. Ronald Naidu and Franco Fraser went the distance with Naidu coming out on top on points.

The two boxers displayed exceptional skills with high level of fitness to last the round six rounds. Jonny ‘The Machine Gun’ Singh proved superior to Naitasiri native Ratu with a first round technical knockout in their 6x3min supporting bout.

Singh came out with all cylinders firing sending Ratu to the canvas four times in the first round. Ratu looked unfit with Singh taking full advantage with some hard hitting body punches. Though Ratu managed to drop Singh once, the latter fought his way back to gain the upper hand. “I was confident of knocking him out in the first round,” said Singh.

“I prepared well for this fight and I want Sebastian next.”

Nereo Cakautini was disqualified in his 6x3min contest against Matthew Michael.

Krishna Mudaliar won by TKO in the first round over Shameer Ali Shamal Ramanuj won by TKO (4th ) over Rizwan Ali. Sachin Mudaliar won by points over Rahul Krishna, Junior Filimoni Naliva beat Edriel Thein TKO (2).
