BRIEFLY TFL backs charity golf

As part of giving back to the community, Telecom Fiji Limited is going to support the Save the Children Fiji’s golf tournament.

The charity golf tournament is another form of activity that Save the Children Fiji relies on to assist them in terms of funding.

With TFL’s backing it is now called Telecom Fiji Charity Ambrose Golf Tournament, which is set for August 25 at the Fiji Golf Club in Vatuwaqa, Suva.

TFL general manager strategy and marketing, Sanjay Maharaj said the sponsorshi­p includes $5000 in cash and some giveaway prizes as well.

“We’re 100 percent Fijian owned company, so under our social corporate responsibi­lity activity of sharing happiness, we are committed at giving back to the community. When it comes to kids, we will be out there helping them for the benefit of our children.” Maharaj added that Telecom is keen to sponsor next year’s event but this would depend on the success of this year’s competitio­n.

Save the Children Fiji chief executive officer Iris LowMckenzi­e acknowledg­ed the sponsors commitment­s to the charity event.

They expect 30 teams to participat­e and so far they have 12 confirmed. It’s going to be a fun-filled day with giveaways including accommodat­ion vouchers, dinning voucher and more. Entry fee is $240 per team of four members Date: 25th August
