Favourites Islands Electric Par 5 are going to battle Team Finance in today’s final of the Parmars Footwear sponsored Lautoka Business House bowling competition.

Both teams won their respective semifinals last Wednesday.

Par 5 with the leadership of national rep Rajnesh Prasad beat Blues 26-13 while Team Finance upset Munesh Kumar’s led Field Nadi 18-15 in the other semifinal.

The final will be a re-match of their earlier meeting where Par 5 won 20-11. Par 5 who remain undefeated after five weeks of competition are expected to welcome back Bobby Prasad into the team after he missed the semifinal.

Competition coordinator David Bennion who has been impressed with Par 5’s results believes they have a make-up of a winning team. “Par 5 has been really a team to beat in this competition. They have a well-balanced side and if they play the way they have been performing then they should win it,” he said. “Team Finance has also shown that they have what it takes by beating the other top teams who should have been in the final. So overall we are anticipating a grand-final.” Meanwhile, preparation is underway for the annual Banana Cup to be played at the Suva Bowling Club next month.
