Prosecution told to amend particulars of information
Suva High Court judge, Justice Thushara Rajasinghe, yesterday told prosecution to amend particulars of information in the Fiji Times case. The particulars of information relate to charges against defendants its publisher Hank Arts, editor-inchief Fred Wesley and editor
Anare Ravula. Justice Rajasinghe told the court yesterday that in his opinion the particulars of the offence were incomplete.
Each accused is charged with one count of sedition along with the first accused, article writer to the Josaia Waqabaca. Waqabaca’s lawyer Aman Ravindra-Singh told the court that he was not challenging the charge and further stated that his client was ready to take his plea. Waqabaca pleaded not guilty to his charge of allegedly writing and submitting an article for publication in the newspaper and in the article made a statement with a seditious intention to promote feelings of ill-will and hostility between different classes of the population of Fiji, between April 20 and April 27, 2016 at Suva.
The case has been adjourned to September 4.

It is alleged that Ravula on April 27, 2016 in his capacity as the editor of the newspaper did aid and abet Hank Arts to publish an article which contained a statement which was a seditious publication.

It is alleged that Arts on April 27, 2016 in his capacity as the publisher of the newspaper published an article which contained a statement which was a seditious publication.

on April 27, 2016 printed the Nai Lalakai newspaper which contained an article which contained a statement which was a seditious publication.
