BRING IT ON
hopes high but we are grateful that we have reached the Cup quarterfinal stage,” Kalouniviti said.
Nasinu has never won the Deans trophy. The last time they reached the final was in 2012. The side had no pre-season preparation but the players have been sacrificing their time every afternoon to train for the new rugby season.
“We have our normal training every afternoon, no pre-season and we just started in Term Two.
“These players have the right attitude to come and train and the determination on the field is overwhelming.
“We will utilise each and every opportunity and will leave no stone unturned,” Kalouniviti added.
Last year the school U17 side reached the final but this year it was difficult for the U18 team management trying to put together new combinations.
“This is a new U18 team from the U17 side that played in the final last year. We are grateful the way these players are blending together. “We will play the game we have been training for,” he added.
Bolstering the Nasinu side would be Josevata Vakatuturaga who was part of the Fijian U18 rugby league side that toured Australia earlier in the year.
“For us we do not want to treat this team as a special team but we want to develop these players.
“For us to conquer, we need to maintain composure and minimise mistakes,” he said.
