Bala: The Country Is Counting On Our Children For The Future
Aclass of Early Child Education students were told Fiji was counting on them to do their best in whatever they did so that everyone in Fiji could have a better tomorrow.
Minister for Local Government, Urban Development, Housing, Environment and Transport Parveen Kumar Bala made the comments while attending the Early Childhood Education Week celebration at Bulabula Sanatan Dharam Primary School in the interior of Ba last Friday.
“Dear children, we as Government have made you as our priority as we know that you are the leaders of tomorrow – the future of Fiji,” the minister said.
“As I look at your bright smiling faces, it gives me hope and great joy to know that you will, under our Government, get the best opportunities from pre-school through to university to contribute to our beloved country.”
Mr Bala said Government wanted to prepare the children of Fiji as best as they could so that they could be best prepared for the rest of their lives.
The minister also pleaded with parents to raise the children up in a caring, nurturing and sustainable environment. He also commended the early childhood educators for taking on the important task of educating, teaching and training Fiji’s young citizens. He reiterated Government’s commitment to early childhood education and restricted its elements to make the programme sustainable.
Mr Bala said plans were in place for further quality children’s parks and amenities across all communities in Fiji.
