LEWASEWA NETTERS USE TOURNEY FOR EXPOSURE
The Rewa Primary Schools Netball team are out to get much exposure and develop its players’ skills in the 2017 Lewasewa Fiji Primary Schools Netball championship at the Suva Grammar School grounds.
Under 13 team Coach Makarita Sarau is grateful for the opportunity which has enabled the team to compete against top level district teams.
“For us the Rewa team it’s not much about winning but we are more focused on allowing the players get some exposure,” Sarau Said.
“Our goal is to develop the girls to get use to the high level of competition that is been expected by Netball Fiji.
“Most of these girls that are from the interior parts of Fiji and they are not exposed to this kind of competition.
“This opportunity has definitely boosted their confidence.
“For as coach I would like one of our teams to at least make it to the knockout stages.
‘We faced a lot of difficulties especially in the financial aspect but I am thankful to the parents and teachers of the primary schools in the Rewa District.
“And with their support the girls are able to showcase their talents here.
“Unfortunately, we didn’t participate last year as most schools were affected by Tropical Cyclone Winston so we opted not to compete”
