Organisers Name Top 10 Finalists
The organisers of Miss India Fiji have announced the 10 finalists to contest the title on September 15 at the Grand Pacific Hotel in Suva.
Miss India Fiji media liaison Officer Onisimo Moi said the criteria for the selection were based on beauty, brains and talent.
The finalists are: Archana Goundar, Shinaal Lata, Varsha Kumar, Sheenal Swastika, Nilshika Singh, Musharrat Muzalfa, Alisha Ali, Patrina Autar, Harshaharsmeetal and Arishma Singh
Mr Moi said the judges had a difficult task whittling down the final 10 from the 67 applications received from the Suva, West Auditions and the online applications.
He said they had their first photoshoot on Sunday at the Grand Pacific Hotel (GPH) in Suva. He said that their hair and makeup was done by Washmina Buksh who is Director of “Allure by Washmina”
“I gave them a very classy,subtle yet glamorous Indian look and a simple bun with sleek back hair that went well with the outfit,” Ms Buksh said.
She chose this setting to achieve the whole purpose of showcasing their natural features and beauty
Mr Moi says all their outfits for the shoot and the main show was sponsored by Tappoos.
Fiji’s famous fashion designer Zulfikar Ali said the outfit choice for the photoshoot was saffron soul sarees, which were simple yet elegant sarees with beautiful embroidery done on the borders.
The readymade blouses are of full embroidery.
TappooCity Lautoka and TappooCity Suva were also the venues for auditions. “The top 10 will now go through a series of training to prepare themselves for the Fiji finals which will be at the GPH on September 15, 2017.”
The winner will be jetting off to New York to compete in the Miss India World Wide pageant from October 1 to 8.
