Procera Music Carnival To Mark 10th Year

- MARAIA VULA Edited by Paula Tuvuki

The Procera Music Carnival will be marking its 10th year at the Valelevu grounds this year.

The carnival was previously held at Syria Park in Nausori. The idea was to promote local artists.

Procera music managing director Mohammed Akif said: “We are trying to promote local artists.”

Mr Akif who has been in the music industry for the last 30 years said they wanted the people of Fiji to support the local artists. One of the sponsors, Standard Concrete, head of operations Marketing and Housing Sai Tokalau said: “We were approached by the organisers to be part of this festival and we saw the initiative to support the original talent of musicians in Fiji.”

“Our biggest quarry is located in Laqere which is part of Nasinu and the support is a way of giving back to Nasinu,” Mr Tokalau said. “We believe it’s the way forward for Fiji.”

Vodafone Fiji marketing officer Willam Tabuya said: “You literally save lives so I liked to take this time to say thank you for the great work that you do.

“Be original and buy original is something that we strive for at Vodafone.

“We are 100 per cent locally owned which means we support grassroots people and that’s the reason we support something like this. “We would like to thank the organisers for taking Vodafone on and we would like to wish you all the best and we will be with you all the way.”
