Cameron: Fiji is Where You Find Friendship
An international expert, Charles Cameron urged international business industries to learn from the Fijian concept of sharing and simplicity. He had observed that this concept could help any business grow because it would broaden their knowledge to learn from other businesses through sharing. Mr Cameron is the chief of executive officer of Recruitment and Consulting Services Association Limited, Australia and New Zealand.
They are currently having their international conference at Sofitel Fiji Resort and Spa in Nadi. Mr Cameron said that Fiji was the perfect place because the conference was based on the theme ‘The Power of Community’
“Fiji is the perfect example of people working together in a community and we can only achieve great things if we work together, the theme of this conference is based on this concept,” he said. RCSA is the peak industry body for the on-hire, recruitment and workforce solutions sector in Australia and New Zealand. It represents over 3000 member companies and accredited professional recruiters.
They set the benchmark for profession’s standards through representation, education, research and business advisory support so sectors may concentrate on its core business.
Another reason why they chose Fiji, Mr Cameron said they were overwhelmed with the Fijian hospitality and it could be easily accessed by our members from Australia and New Zealand. Their conference in 2012 was also held in Fiji.
As the chief executive officer, he added that he loved the idea of community in Fiji.
“I love the idea of community done simply, Fiji is a very good example of how communities come out in so many different ways, where you find friendship, in the way we come together and help each other,” Mr Cameron.
Participants at the conference included international recruitment firms and professional contracting firms from United States of America, Netherlands, New Zealand and Australia.
Mr Cameron said their industry was focused on finding great people and introducing them to great businesses by supporting them through learning and development. He added they were compelled by the way in Fijian people helped one another and their approach towards life are simple. “We as an industry need to share the way in which we do business and share how we support people, to also share how we grow our industry as well, the power of community feels really right in Fiji because of the beautiful community,” Mr Cameron said. He described Fijians as talented people and that they have the opportunity to secure opportunities in either Australia or New Zealand.
Some of the issues expected to be discussed in the meeting are trying to understand the internet world and how businesses could use social media platforms to make their advertisements more attractive.
Mr Cameron said technology was an important factor behind the success of any business. The conference ends tomorrow.
