Fiji Broadcasting Corporation launched applications to provide better coverage and service to its listeners around the country.

The four radio stations Gold FM, 2Day FM, Bula FM and Mirchi FM free apps were launched at the Holiday Inn Suva yesterday. The apps are available on Android Google Play Store and will be available on Apple iOS next week. Listeners can download the apps by searching Gold FM FBC, Mirchi FM FBC, Bula FM FBC and 2Day FM FBC on the play store and iOS to download.

The apps were designed in corporation with FBC and Totolo Lad. FBC chief executive Riyaz SayedKhaiyum said FBC was the first to launch apps for its radios.

“We are very proud to be the first broadcaster in the country to launch the official apps for radios. “The apps are not only for us (FBC). The reason why we are very proud of the apps is because we have developed the apps for our listeners and our clients. “People can connect with us, browse their favourite radio jockeys profiles and listen to live radio shows anytime, anywhere. “There are various features that we have added for our listeners and clients for their convenience. Our clients and listeners can stay updated any time of the day.

“We have a feature for business to promote their advertisements on each radio app,” Mr Sayed-Khaiyum said.

The apps will also feature uninterrupted audio. Listeners can pair their vehicle’s Bluetooth with the apps and listen to the radio while travelling around the country. “There are some blank spots around the country where FM signals do not catch, but with the apps, everyone can listen to the radio without any interruption,” Mr Sayed-Khaiyum said.
