North Muslim IDC starts today

The Vanua Levu Muslim Interdistr­ict Championsh­ip (IDC) sponsored by Bank of Baroda and Vodafone Fiji gets underway today at Subrail Park, Labasa. Tournament president Aiyub Khan said it would be a 10-day tournament. “There will be twelve teams in the super premier division and they are Batinikama, Seaqaqa, Wailevu, Savusavu, Korowiri, Nasea, Tabia, Vunimoli, Soasoa, Solove, Valebasoga and Nabekavu,” Khan said. “We have thirteen teams in the premier division which are Wailevu, Tabia, Dreketi, Seaqaqa, Batinikama, Valebasoga, Nasea, Tadravula, Vunimoli, Taveuni,

Bua, Nadogo and Bulileka.”

Khan said last year’s Super Premier division winners were Batinikama while Wailevu took out the Premier winners.” The first pool game is between Tabia and Nasea at 5.30pm.

“The super premier division matches will be for 50 minutes while the premier division games will be for 40 minutes. The money raised from this tournament will be used to pay the debt at Labasa Muslim Primary School.

“The reminding funds will be injected in other community projects.”
