The villagers of Koroyaca in Sabeto, Nadi were reminded to show their full support for Prime Minister, Voreqe Bainimarama when he presides over the COP23 in November in Bonn, Germany. Minister for Local Government, Housing & Environment, Infrastructure & Transport, Parveen Bala while commissioning the rural grid connection project at the village, said that Fiji’s fight against climate change should be everyone’s concern.

The Government funded project cost around $27,000. It aimed to provide electricity to 12 families in the village. “Let’s be proud of our Prime Minister, Voreqe Bainimarama for leading the way on the fight against climate change.

“I am urging you all villagers to show your full support come November, let’s all stand together and show our support.

COP23 will be held on November 6-17.

Mata ni tikina Sabeto, Taniela Nakai reassured Government that they had their full support.

He also thanked Government for the project which would enable families in their village to access electricity.

Villager, 55-year-old, Sainiana Nasau said she had been without electricity for more than ten years.

“I really want to thank Government for their help. “Before life for us was really hard but with electricity, things should be easier,” Ms Nasau said.
