Final Game For Vasiteri
Blockbusting centre Eroni Vasiteri will play his last game for the Fiji Airways Drua at the ANZ Stadium tomorrow.
Vasiteri will then link up with the Kieran Keane-coached Connacht who have signed the Fijian international on a one-year contract with the option of a further year.
The 28-year-old spent the 2015/16 season with Top 14 side Agen and will link up with the Irish province next week.
Fiji Airways Drua coach Senirusi Seruvakula will not be drafting new players to replace Vasiteri.
“We have players in the squad like Apete Daveta, Eroni Sau and Alivereti Veitokani who are capable replacements,”Seruvakula said. Seruvakula has selected Kini Douglas to replace Peceli Nacebe at No.10 and the backline players are Frank Lomani, Vasiteri, Sau, Daveta, John Stewart and Apisalome Waqatabu.
Nadroga forward Peni Naulago returns to his lock position. Seruvakula said they were wary of the performance of fellow Fijian Isi Nasarani who will No.8 for Perth Spirit.
“Nasarani has been instrumental with Perth Spirit but for us we will need to be accurate in our defence and just play like what we have been doing every week,”Seruvakula said.
“I’m confident the players will compete well and give the defending champions a good run. It will be an exciting game, a must see for fans at very affordable prices. Fans can’t afford to miss out.” Tickets cost $10, $5. Joeli Veitayaki, Ratunaisa Navuma, Kalivati Tawake, Peni Naulago, Filimoni Seru, Samuela Saqiwa, Mosese Voka, Peni Raidre,
