NEW MINIMUM WAGE RATES IN EFFECT FROM SEPTEMBER 30

The new minimum wage rate for both informal and formal sectors comes into effect from September 30, 2017. This was highlighte­d by the Minister for Employment, Productivi­ty and Industrial Relations Honourable Jone Usamate during his meeting with the Savusavu Chamber of Commerce and community members yesterday.

“From this date, all workers should be receiving the new wage rate. The new national minimum wage has increased from $2.32 to $2.68 per hour or $120.60 per week,” said the Minister.
