If there is one thing about Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s films that one cannot contest, it is his aesthetic sense. And among many admirers of the gorgeousness of Bhansali’s works is filmmaker Karan Johar, who was earlier reported to have differences with the Padmavati director. At an event today, Karan showered praise on the styling of Bhansali’s films, mentioning his upcoming magnum-opus, Padmavati, in particular.
The individual looks of Padmavati’s leading cast members – Deepika Padukone, Shahid Kapoor and Ranveer Singh – have been released, and getting unanimous praise from the fans and within the industry. Sharing his opinion on Deepika’s look from the film, Karan told media persons, “She looks stunning. That’s one thing about Sanjay Leela Bhansali, his aesthetics are always beautiful, always stunning and the best. His sense of visualisation, beauty is the best we have in the country.” “There’s no doubt that Padmavati looks exceptionally beautiful. All three looks, even the Ranveer Singh look was exotic. Deepika is always eternally beautiful but I think Bhansali makes her look more beautiful,” KJo further said.
Karan and Bhansali apparently feuded over casting Deepika and Ranveer in their respective films. According to reports, Karan wanted to cast the two actors in his much-talked about and much-delayed film, Shuddhi, after Hrithik Roshan and Kareena Kapoor backed out, but before he could do that, SLB signed the young stars in Bajirao Mastani.
Nevertheless, the two directors publicly met earlier this year at a party hosted by Deepika, and also got snapped together. According to a report in Mumbai Mirror, the duo chatted for a good 30 minutes.
