- KARALAINI TAVI Edited by Mohammed Ali

Road accident victim Sada Shankaran died on Friday after his life support was removed.

Mr Shankaran, 63, was admitted at the Intensive Care Unit in Lautoka Hospital after he was allegedly hit by a car while crossing the road at Martintar in Nadi on September 22 at around 10pm.

Brother John Shankaran said it was unfortunate that they had to lose their brother, and they were still coming to terms with it.

He said his brother was a caring person who was full of life and he would surely be missed by his family. “He had a big heart and was always willing to do things for you and make you happy, he didn’t have much but whatever he had he offered,” he said.

“He loved life, suddenly he is gone. When we heard the news that he was in hospital and was struck by a car and was on life support machine, it was a complete shock to the family.

“I will surely miss him, especially when I come to Fiji for holiday and my first point of call was always Nadi and to spend time with him. I would always bring him a bottle whiskey and we would sit down, catch up and now that he is gone, there will be a missing link.”

The 63 year old man was passionate about music; he loved listening to live music and was always persevering to do better.

“Sadar loved music, watching live bands and he would often loved coming to night clubs because he loved live music and he had a great time with his friends,” Mr Shankaran said.

“He was a very hard worker, and he took pride in whatever work he did and at the same time loved to party.”

Sada was not married but is survived by one son. The post mortem will be conducted on Mondayto determine the cause of his death.

The farewell service will be held at Mount Saint Mary’s church in Nadi on Wednesday at10am.
