Rewa Eyes 3rd Title Win

Rewa scored the biggest win on the first day of the 2017 Courts Inter-District Championsh­ip with a 5-1 win over Dreketi at Churchill Park, Lautoka, yesterday. The ‘Delta Tigers’ are aiming for their third title after winning the Vodafone Fijian FACT and INKK Battle of the Giants tournament­s earlier this year. Rewa play Ba at 8pm tonight.

Sairusi Lalaubu scored two goals as Rewa defeated Dreketi 5-1 in the opening game of the Courts IDC at Churchill Park, Lautoka yesterday.

Lalaubu scored in the first half before Gabriele Matanisiga extended the lead in the second half, Former Rewa rep Usaia Tadu scored from a penalty for the northerner­s to bridge the gap 2-1. Lalaubu scored his double before Epeli Saukuru and Lorima Dau sealed the win for Rewa.

Rewa coach Marika Rodu said;

“We will work on our finishing and coordinati­on.

“We have good chances of qualifying for the semi-finals but we need to perform in our next game.”

Coach for the Dreketi team Johan Leewai; “We need to be better organized in midfield and . “We will also work on our defence and backline.”
