BRED Bank Fiji introduces ‘Verified by Visa’
At BRED Bank they want to make certain that your internet purchases are as secure as possible.
To achieve this they have partnered with Visa to bring you ‘Verified by Visa.’
A key feature of this partnership is to continue to build consumer confidence in online shopping.
In introducing ‘Verified by Visa’, Olivier Klein, Group chief executive officer of BRED Bank, said: “You will recollect that BRED Bank Fiji was the first in Fiji to introduce an EMV chip capable payment card, and is now proud to be the first in Fiji to launch ‘Verified by Visa’.” “Online shopping and trading are becoming increasingly popular due to greater choice and convenience. “Security is a priority at BRED Bank and we provide the most upto-date security features to ensure our customers can shop online with confidence.
“The introduction of ‘Verified by Visa’ gives our customers the peace of mind to transact quickly and effectively online.”
Andy McCowan, Head of South Pacific, Visa, supported the development of BRED Bank by stating that, “Security is the bedrock of the electronic payments system and as technology creates new shopping experiences, security must keep pace.
“We’re proud to support BRED Bank in this important program to protect their customers in the online space.”
BRED Bank Fiji Supervisor of eChannels services and Project Manager, Maciu Rokosemudu further explained that, “‘Verified by Visa’ will be offered for free and is an automatic online security service that has been created to help guard BRED Visa Debit cards against unauthorised use online.
“‘Verified by Visa’ works by sending a unique online identifier to the customer’s registered email address each time they use their BRED Visa Debit card on the internet with participating online retailers.
“The customer then uses the ‘Verified by Visa’ password to validate the online transaction.
“This helps to protect our customers from unauthorised use of their Visa Debit cards.
“Since the customer’s card is protected by their ‘Verified by Visa’ password, only the customer can use their Visa Debit card online. “This makes spending online safer than ever before. Without the ‘Verified by Visa’ password, the purchase cannot take place,” Mr Rokosemudu said.
