Video camera donation assists NFA in fire investigat­ions

The National Fire Authority (NFA) yesterday received a Sony video camera from Carpenters Fiji Limited at its headquarte­rs in Suva. The camera will be used by the NFA’s Fire Investigat­ions Department in its fire investigat­ion and research works. While receiving the video camera, NFA acting chief executive officer Mileta Seniroqa thanked Carpenters Fiji Limited for donating the video camera. “It’s a timely donation for the NFA as this camera will boost our fire investigat­ions and research works enabling officers to keep a record of the findings on video,” Mrs Seniroqa said.

“It will also be used during fire safety awareness programmes and official events to assist us assess the effectiven­ess of each event and improve our delivery where necessary,” she said.

“It is very important to have such equipment and we are grateful to Carpenters Fiji.” While handing over the camera, Ugesh Lal, Operations Manager for Homemaker, said they were proud to assist NFA.

“We hope that the video camera will contribute to the growth of NFA’s Fire Investigat­ions Department and research developmen­ts,” Mr Lal said. “This is also part of our community service initiative and we are happy to be contributi­ng effectivel­y to the fire service’s efforts in the early mitigation of fires and other emergencie­s in our communitie­s,” he said.
