The Nakama Development Project at Nakama Village in Labasa is planning to buy a property.

They plan to do this after they receive their first 10 per cent payment from Bank South Pacific (BSP) Life under Bula Elite insurance in Labasa.

Nakama Development Project treasurer Laisa Tavusa said with the first 10 per cent payment as a deposit, they are willing to buy a property that would act as an income generating project for the community.

Known for its chicken and beehive farming in Labasa, committee members for the Nakama Development Project praised BSP Life for the reaching out to villages outside of Labasa to inform the community of ways to save money and keep their businesses going in the long run.

“We invested with BSP Life mainly to save money with deductions lasting only for 10 years time with no further deductions or payment thereafter,” Mrs Tavusa said.

“BSP Life offers the right product that could help us continue with our business with such a product which offers financial assistance during the term of the policy.” BSP Life agent Alan Kaukilevuka said: “Bula Elite offers cash returns equal to 10 per cent of the sum insured every three years and a guaranteed payment of 100 per cent of the sum insured at the end of the policy term.” Mr Kaukilevuka said this would be a great investment for them as it would help them to generate more income projects from the payment that will be made to them after the third year and every three years thereafter till the maturity date of the policy.

“It would also assist in the payment of premiums during the first 10 years of the policy apart from income generated from chicken farming,” Mr Kaukilevuka said.
