Seruvakula calls on fans for Saturday’s must-win clash
Fiji Airways Drua coach Senirusi Seruvakula has expressed his disappointment on certain decisions made by the referee during last Saturday’s clash against Queensland Country in the Australian National Rugby Championship (NRC). Speaking to SUNsports yesterday, Seruvakula said that is now water under the bridge as they turn their focus on a must-win clash against Sydney Rays this Saturday.
“For me personally, I was disappointed with the way the referee had made certain decisions in our encounter against Queensland Country but in the end we can’t say much on the matter as the final decision is made by him anyway,” he said.
“I believe this Saturday’s game is very crucial for us as it will be the last match for the season as well.
“And the team will need to stepup with their preparations especially in trying to train accordingly.
“It will be the fourth home game for the boys and we’ll get our set pieces right for the game while the results will follow.” Seruvakula said there won’t be any major positional changes made to the side as they would be utilising all their current players.
“However, after analysing the performance of the players from the Queensland Country game, I think we should not only improve on our discipline but all aspects of the game, which are important.
“Anyway, we’ll stay motivated and move on from our last game and do better this time around.” Seruvakula has called on rugby fans to come out in numbers at the ANZ Stadium, Suva to cheer them on.
The Drua need a bonus point win to secure their spot in the NRC semi-finals.
“The fans presence will be a great source of motivation for the players,” he added.
The clash kicks-off at 6:30pm.
