Bank of Baroda Lists Pinktober As Social Priority
We have been supporting the FCS in the Pinktober morning tea since 2014 and this is a month we always look forward to, to support our cancer patients. FCS has done a great work to the local people in sending them to hospitals for medical treatments.
Bank of Baroda chief executive officer Govindsing Rajput, says accepting our cancer patients in society is important.
While speaking during their Pinktober morning tea at their head office in Suva yesterday Mr Rajput said cancer awareness was important.
He said while it was vital to create awareness to the general public, the symptoms of cancer and early detection was very important. “Those who have the symptoms need to accept it and seek medical attention, and they also need to be accepted in the society,” Mr Rajput said.
“Prevention is better than cure,” he said.
He said many were frightened to visit the hospital for screening.
He added that these were all in the mind set. “Money cannot save lives, but regular medical treatment and check-ups will save lives.”
He said cancer is curable if one seeks medical attention immediately.
“The morning tea is part of our corporate social responsibility in supporting Fiji Cancer Society which is a worthy cause,” he said. “We have been supporting the Fiji Cancer Society in the Pinktober morning tea since 2014 and this is a month we always look forward to, to support our cancer patients.”
Mr Rajput said the Fiji Cancer Society has done a great work to the local people in sending them to hospitals for medical treatments.
“We are supporting FCS in whatever they do for the cancer patients in Fiji.” The bank also presented a $750 cheque Fiji Cancer Society.
