Man Who Fell From A Mango Tree Recovers
Aman who fell from a mango tree and went into a coma for 13 days is now recovering. Aliki Prasad is now back on his feet and has been discharged from the hospital.
The 33-year-old of Vunivau in Labasa, referred to as the miracle man, by the medical professionals of Colonial War Memorial (CWM) Hospital said he resurrected thanks to Doctor Waqa’s expertise and the security guard for allowing prayer groups and people to lay their hands on him for healing prayer.
“My wife, Loretta Ritalau almost gave up hope because doctors told her I had six broken ribs, damaged lungs and was vomiting blood,” Mr Prasad said.
“Even some people told her that I wouldn’t survive when I was airlifted from Labasa Hospital on Fiji Day. “When I opened my eyes after 13 days while being admitted at Intensive Care Unit (ICU), I had visitors from different congregations whom I didn’t even know confidently praying for me to stand on my feet,” the father of three children said. “Within a few days I was able to stand and walk out of ICU which surprised the doctors.
“For 13 days I was without food and surviving on drips and breathing with an aid of a machine.
“I would like to thank God for blessing me with a new lease of life which was only made possible through the prayers of those who visited and laid hands on me,” Mr Prasad said.
“I do not know them by name or face but where ever they are I wish to thank them as I have been dis- charged and will be returning home soon.
“I would also like to thank the medical professionals for allowing faith based organisations to pray for the sick especially for those who travelled across the island with only one hope that is to be able to live.” Ministry of Health and Medical Services Permanent Secretary, Philip Davies, said that the hospital staff work tirelessly in caring for their patients and they are always delighted when they receive such positive feedback from someone, like Mr Prasad, who values the work they do.
“I congratulate them all for the wonderful work they do and also thank Mr Prasad for taking the time to say Vinaka.”
