NFP's Parmod Chand's Rhetoric

Tukai Lagonilakeba, Nadi

The Labasa businessman Parmod Chand did not qualify himself as a legitimate National Federation Party winning candidate from our 2014 National Election.

His attack on the Republic of Fiji Military Forces shows he is ungrateful to the many sacrifices by our loyal men and women in green who stood by their oath and captured the rebels from the events of 2000 to bring back normalcy, stability, safety and security to our beloved nation during which time Parmod Chand travelled freely in and out of the country with his families whilst the majority of Indo-Fijians descent suffered from looting, burning of their properties and the loss of their livelihood, some innocent lives were lost and many families were displaced and separated, but may I ask, where was Parmod in all these were happening? My only regret about this particular National Federation Party member and now Member of Parliament was that I hoped he had the guts to say the same in the year 2000 some 17 years back and I quote what he said, “I do not fear the Republic of Fiji Military Forces, Government, no man or Dictator, but that he only feared God” as reported in the other newspaper Sunday 29th Oct.

Many of us who have sons', brothers and sisters, uncles past and present have proudly served our country through the Republic of Fiji Military Forces, the very institution that has brought about stability in what we all Fijians are enjoying today.

Please Parmod, kindly apologise to the Republic of Fiji Military Forces for your unwarranted and unnecessary outburst.
