England pack ‘nasty enough’ for anyone’

- Rugby Heaven

London: England lock Joe Launchbury says their forwards are ‘nasty enough’ to help them continue pressing towards the top of the world rankings ahead of the All Blacks. Launchbury is part of England’s 26man squad named to face Argentina in their test at Twickenham on Sunday.

England face Australia and Samoa in further tests this month after beating the Pumas in two tests in Argentina back in June when the British and Irish Lions toured New Zealand.

Launchbury, who was widely considered unlucky to miss out on Warren Gatland’s Lions squad, said England’s forward pack was always improving and ready to face anyone ahead of November’s tests across Europe. “The old-school growling has probably gone as crossing the line is going to take away massively from the team.

“What with the amount of -retrospective banning and TMO work there is nowadays,” Launchbury said.

“But are we nasty enough as a group of forwards? Yeah, we’ve proved we are. “Being physical and strong, ¬having an intensity and playing on the edge of ¬physicality, is extremely ¬important.”
