PRIZE-GIVING
LAMI HIGH SCHOOL AND BETHEL CRUSADE PRESCHOOL
Siteri Mami of Lami High School was all smiles as she acknowledged God after receiving the overall Dux award at the prize giving ceremony yesterday.
The 18-year-old was surrounded with friends and families who congratulated her for her hard work during her years of studying in Lami High School.
“My family especially my parents have been supportive; they have boosted me with their frequent advice. Without them I would not be here,” Ms Mami said. Ms Mami, from Yavitu, Naceva in Kadavu with maternal links to Vanua Levu, said she had applied for church mission studies in a University in Hawaii next year. Keeping her options open, the teenager is also looking at taking up a Bachelor of Arts programme at the University of the South Pacific.
Being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Ms Mami said her parents' support in their prayers and daily advice were her greatest strength.
“I acknowledge the school, the teachers, and my parents and family for being there for me throughout this year, I will miss the school and all the memories.”
Ms Mami was also awarded the Year 13 subject awards for English, History and Economics.
