The Suva Capital Force netball side are confident of restoring lost glory in the 2017 Digicel Punjas Netball Super League Series at the Vodafone Arena, Suva, on Saturday. Speaking to SUNsports yesterday, Suva Capital Force coach/player Filo Korovulavula said they lost in the final last year and they want to finish at the top in 2017.

“We want to win the competition,” Korovulavula said. “Also, as coach and player I want to see my team go up another level as far as netball is concerned in the country. “Our preparations have been coming well and the girls have played remarkably in their first game where we defeated Stallion Starlets 62-29.

“Most of the Suva reps are playing for other districts and that won’t discourage us from delivering our best.

“After conducting our training session this week I must say that fitness is one major area that the players need to work on. “Today was our last training session and we will take a break tomorrow before our second round of games on Saturday.

“This week will be tough for the girls as they will be playing two matches. The first match is against Satellite Divas while the second game is against Central Swifts. We’re aware that both teams have national reps playing for them and they will come prepared to give us a good game.

“However, this netball series will continue right to December 2 and I have reminded the players the need to step-up with their performance each week and never to underestimate any team that we meet in the competition.

“I would like to urge supporters of Suva Netball to please come out in numbers to support the side this Saturday.”
